Dick Durbin, the true follower of Goebbels

Conservativity now inducts "senator" dick Durbin, a Democrat senator from Illinois (my home state, a fact that embarasses me to no end) into its Hall of Shame.  This person, in an obvious attempt to throw red meat to the America-hating extreme-leftist socialist kooks who control the modern Democratic party, rose to the senate floor.  He then quoted an FBI agent, who reported that a Guantanamo Bay terrorist was locked in a hot room with loud rap music, after being in a cold room and chained up.  Then this Senator, who is supposed to have sworn an oath to preserve and protect the Constitution, said:

“If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime — Pol Pot or others — that had no concern for human beings.”

This evil statement equates the brave soldiers who fight and die to protect us from more terror attacks like those on September 11 to Nazis!  How can anyone on Earth characterize this statement as anythine other than pure hatred of our heroic military?  Other commentators, like Laura Ingraham, Rush and Sean Hannity, have pointed up that these 550 people live in a facility that cost $109 million!  That is nearly $200,000 per prisoner, over $30,000 higher than the median price of a single family home in the midwest from which Durbin hails.  These "Nazi" soldiers were falsely accused of flusing the Quran down a toilet (it is way too big to do so), but when the story was shown to be false, the media attacked our President for defending himself, and defended the false story!

So Dick Durbin gets up and utters this abomination.  He embarasses me as an Illinois citizen.  Yet the leftist socialists who virulently hate the United States of America and its military support this traitor.  Pol Pot?  Killing fields?  While the terrorists -- let me say that again, terrorists -- dine on Rice Pilaf and other foods tailor-made not to offend their Muslim dietary requirements, the traitors continue to fabricate libelous false "torture" allegations to try to harm the United States.  The terrorists are complaining to the chef that their mushrooms are slightly under-seasoned and asking the Maitre’d for seaside views, while our troops are eating MRE rations!

Rush and others are calling this facility "Club Gitmo."  How true!  But no nationally prominent Democrat, save for one, has come down on Durbin’s treason.  The lone voice, the mayor of Chicago, Richard M. Daley.  He complained today about Durbin’s atrocious statements.  Part of that has, I think, to do with the fact that the mayor is far more grounded in reality than the "senator."  Part of that has to do with the fact that the mayor’s son is in the Army, doing the mayor and the city and the state and the country proud with his service.  Perhaps Mayor Daley thought as I do; this remark called his son Patrick a Nazi and the kinfolk of Pol Pot.

This is part of the extremizing of the Democratic party.  I am fond of repeatedly citing to Churchill’s warning that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.  Dick Durbin is reliving 2000 and 2004, and moving further to the left, cozying up with the extreme left wing Nazi doctrines that are coming to dominate the Democratic party.  The people repeatedly reject these leftward moves.  Durbin ought to enjoy the remainder of his last term in the Senate, for the voters in this "blue" state are about to paint it red in 2006.  Time for the Illinois GOP to recover from its scandals and to announce a clean, strong, America-loving candidate for Senate!  Peter Fitzgerald, please emerge from retirement!
