Our Media is Laughably Transparent!

Reuters photographers were really into the big news yesterday.  Apparently President Bush occasionally uses the bathroom!  Shocking!  Stunning!  Why, we all know that the President is supposed to hold it for between four and eight years!  How low has the media stooped to publish a photograph of the president writing a short note to Condi Rice that said that he "may need a bathroom break?"

There are stories published about this note!  Both Michelle Malkin and Matt Drudge are linking to these stories, with Mrs. Malkin properly stating that this may just be the stupidest news story ever.  I could not agree more.  Why is the press doing this?

Is it to divert attention from the ridiculous Tina Brown op-ed in the Washington Post that predicts that hurricane KAtrina will cause Fox news to turn liberal, and is in fact the end of conservatism?  That op-ed turns upon the notion that CNN’s Katrina-fueled ratings boosts had increases that were "greater in percentage terms than Fox’s."  What Mrs. Brown ignores is that Fox gained more actual viewers and increased its ratings lead over CNN!  The article also failes to note that the Fox ratings leaders are still O’Reilly and Hannity & Colmes, whose audiences are triple those of CNN’s leading offerings.

"So while the Post buries the truth -- that the People recognize that the Democrats don’t really mean what they say about Katrina and are simply trying to kick a President (and hence the country) when down -- Retuers runs a story designed, vainly, to make our President look childish.  Ridiculous."

Is this ridiculous story placed out there to divert attention from the Washington Post Poll that showed that our President was taking a popularity hit in his poll ratings, "But Americans were even more suspicious of Democrats’ motives. Six in 10 said that Democrats critical of Bush for his handling of the hurricane were just trying to use the disaster for political advantage...?"  So while the Post buries the truth -- that the People recognize that the Democrats don’t really mean what they say about Katrina and are simply trying to kick a President (and hence the country) when down -- Retuers runs a story designed, vainly, to make our President look childish.  Ridiculous.

Our media is, as the title of this article says, laughably transparent.  They will stop at nothing, truth, decency or humanity be damned, to try to topple the President and ruin him.  The media sees it as his job to try to force the people to change their made-up minds and reject conservatism.  They think nothing of running a silly photo and ridiculous stories to bury our President.

The success of Fox News channel and the people’s wholesale rejection of the liberal media and its shenanigans give me confort and hope.  Let’s pray that the people continue their steady march toward true freedom -- conservatism -- and away from tyranny via government dependence (liberalism).
