Leftist Press Shows True Colors -- Again!

REVISED on 2-17-06:  Rush Limbaugh has always, wisely said that the mainstream media thinks that its job is to destroy people in power.  Media elites vociferously objected, protesting their neutrality.  Flummery!  Vice President Cheney, still obviously shaken up by the hunting accident that resulted in his personal friend being hit with birdshot, appeared on Fox News to discuss what had happened.  Now, as we all know, Fox News’ ratings exceed the ratings of CNN and MSNBC combined.  Yet, to the leftist elites, the Vice President went where he would get a "softball" interview.  Brit Hume, Fox’s most senior journalist, interviewed Mr. Cheney.

" Perhaps the Vice President, who is under no obligation whatsoever to speak to anyone at all about this, chose the network with the most viewers!"

In a fit of immaturity, CNN’s Jack Cafferty said the interview was  "a little bit like Bonnie interviewing Clyde."  He continued, "I mean, running over there to the f-word network -- talk about seeking a safe haven."  [Editor’s note:  We corrected "Fox" to f-word in order to make the quote precisely match what Mr. Cafferty uttered.]  Let’s discuss.  Perhaps the Vice President, who is under no obligation whatsoever to speak to anyone at all about this, chose the network with the most viewers!  He did not demand that conservative pundit Sean Hannity conduct the interview, a demand that Fox would certainly have acceeded to if made.  But there is more.  Read this article.

Illegitimate Sen. Frank Lautenberg, Democrat from New Jersey (remember when Bob Torricelli was losing and Bill Clinton engineered an illegal ballot substitution?), weighed in to help his sycophants in the media.  "Now that he feels forced to talk, he wants to restrict the discussion to a friendly news outlet, guaranteeing no hard questions from the press corps," Rush Limbaugh constantly refers to the mainstream media as the "willing accomplices" of the socialist extremists that are today’s Democratic party.  If Sen. Lautenberg were the person in crisis, I guarantee that he would go to CNN and its 300,000 watchers, where he would get "softball" questions.

"Why is Vice President Cheney obligated to be grilled by a press that wrongly thinks that its role is to prosecute rather than report?  Why is the leftist American press acting like the tactical heirs of Torquemada instead of Benjamin Franklin?"

Why is Vice President Cheney obligated to be grilled by a press that wrongly thinks that its role is to prosecute rather than report?  Why is the leftist American press acting like the tactical heirs of Torquemada instead of Benjamin Franklin?  Brit Hume asked the right questions.  Was Mr. Cheney drinking?  The Vice President answered truthfully, and made it clear that neither he nor his friends were under the influence.  If Cafferty asked the question, would he have taken the "softball" out of the issue by calling the duly elected Vice President of the United States of America a liar?  Was he planning to ask Mr. Cheney if he was attempting to murder his friend?  Or is the interview too soft because Mr. Hume was not vicious enough?

It appears that, to the left, a Republican is not legitimately "interviewed" unless the "interview" is a stressful exercise in all-out persecution.  On the other hand, leftist wackos demand that, when their people are interviewed, nothing they say is to be taken as anything less tan perfect.  Any challenge to anything that a leftist says, even a soft challenge, results in howls of outrage.  Think I am lying?  Remember Mary Mapes and the Dan Rather forged documentsRemember Katie Couric and Howard Dean from just a couple of weeks ago!  The mainstream media continually proves itself to exist for no other purpose than to promote the most extreme leftists who presently control the Democratic party.

The press shows its true colors over and over.  Its job is to ruin people in power.  However, there is a qualification:  its job is to ruin Republicans in power.  Bill Clinton commits perjury; he "just lied about sex" and should go scot free.  Dick Cheney has a hunting accident, and the press is demanding a Grand Jury investigation.  Maureen "Downer" Dowd lambastes Clinton when he is in power, but when the GOP is in power, his lies are "poignant" and George Bush is, to her, worse than satan.  The mainstream media is an arm of the socialist extremists that are today’s Democratic party, and their primary mission in life is to ruin conservatices and Republicans, truth or decency be damned.

No wonder Vice President Cheney went where he would get a fair and balanced interview!
