Air America Radio was out of money, until a group led by George Soros ponied up $8 million to bail it out -- again.  I guess that the $875,000 in federal funds that they stole from the Gloria Wise Boys and Girls’ club wasn’t enough to tide the network over until it reached the mythical state of profitability.  Of course, the left never learns from history.  The Left never even learns from the present!  There is serious doubt that the $8 million will last the network through the election cycle.  AAR’s ratings are down while Rush, Hannity, Ingraham, Levin, Savage and Medved are all up. The donors are the usual liberal suspects, the ultra-rich people who think that they are the ones who should rule over the rest of us, and who want the government to be the ultimate benefactor, and the ultimate controller, of us all.

The problem is this:  $8 million, or $8 billion, or $8 trillion, no amount of money thrown at a radio network will divorce the American people from their common sense.  Soros speaks of "startup investment" in extreme leftist think tanks.  The problem is that think tanks can certainly elucidate a policy.  It won’t be what liberals actually believe; the leftists’ true beliefs will still inform their actions.  Actions speak louder than words.  Every extreme leftist / socialist / communist regime, or for that matter, every one of their programs, always fail.  Miserably.  This dates back to Biblical times.  The early Christian church at Jerusalem held all assets in common -- commune living, socialism in the first century A.D.  Read the book of Acts.  Later on, Paul writes in his epistles to collect money for the impoverished church at Jerusalem.  While it’s sort of thin evidence, it is nonetheless evidence that socialism destroys prosperity.

And let’s be clear.  Socialism never works.  Socialized medicine kills people in Canada and hroughout Europe.  Socialism in the Soviet Union nearly destroyed a fine people, who only now are recovering from their ordeal.  the only reason that Communist China is still functioning is their adoption of capitalism and enterprise.  The Marxists abandoned Marx and turned China into an outright oligarchy.  Cuba and North Korea are impoverished, while Vietnam has gone the Chinese route.

So why pour money into Air America to indoctrinate a dwindling audience of preaching-to-the-choir moonbats?  Because the notion of the liberal talk network dying in the middle of an election year, especially this one, is unthinkable.  The Democrats realize that 2006 and 2008 are their Pharsalus.  Either they win or they die.  The trouble is that they have no Caesar.  They don’t even have a Pompey.  Air America is running on wing and a prayer -- oops sorry, a wing and an invocation to a non-gender-specific potential deity.  As Rush pointed out, only 6% of Democrats toe the complete party line.  That is how extreme that the Dems are.  They are more socialist than Eugene Debs’ Socialists, whom they either subsumed or were subsumed by, depending on your point of view.

Hillary Clinton, the woman who tried to make it a crime for you to choose your own doctor, is the front-runner for President.  Frankly we could run Scooter Libby and Tom DeLay and beat her.  But, to the Dems’ terror, we’ll like run Condi Rice and George Allen.  And that ticket of power will peel away the Democratic voters like the layers of an onion. And when we get to the core of liberalism, we’ll find the same thing you find inside the middle of an onion: nothing!  And no number of Al Franken’s unfunny jokes, or Randi Rhodes’ alleged parodies about killing our President will change that.

The Left knows what they believe, they’re just afraid to tell us.  And putting their propaganda on life support in the vain hope that some think tanks will find the way to make sense from nonsense does nothing but waste their money.  We should be thrilled.
