To listen to the mainstream press, one would think that the Democrats are on the verge of a massive victory in 2006, to be followed by another one in 2008 -- a complete 180-degree turn of the country from sanity to liberalism. However, we who actually bother to check our facts realize that the mainstream press is far less trustworthy than a small-time grifter or used-car salesman. We could list examples indefinitely. For example, Dan Rather runs story with blatantly forged documents, CBS runs false weapons story on eve of 2004 elections, 2004 exit polls purposefully mis-sampled to oversample Democrats (both to attempt to deflate Republican vote and to give basis for phony claims of election tampering), manufactured low Presidential approval numbers. These acts, and many more recent ones, are not the acts of sure-fire winners. They are the desperate last acts of amoral power-hungry tyrants.
Wtiness the recent Reuters article about Donald Rumsfeld, where they feature a member of the shrinking Senate Democrat minority, Joe Biden, call for the resignation of Don Rumsfeld as Secretary of Defense. Reuters published the following:
[Rumsfeld] said "the terrorists" in Iraq were attempting to stoke sectarian tension and spark civil war, but that they must be "watching with fear" the progress in the country over the past three years.
"Make no mistake: any person who says or intimates that we should have stayed out of Iraq tacitly, or perhaps intentionally, endorses every one of Saddam’s evil practices."
Reuters used quotes around the words "the terrorists" specifically to convey that the author of the article did not believe the Iraqi terrorists to be terrorists. They believe that these civilian-beheading suicide-bombing people are freedom fighters, trying to save Iraq from the terrors of freedom and republicanism, and return it to the glory days of Saddam’s death squads and torture rooms. Make no mistake: any person who says or intimates that we should have stayed out of Iraq tacitly, or perhaps intentionally, endorses every one of Saddam’s evil practices.
Rumsfeld is under attack for noting the obvious: If we ran off like the cowards that the liberals are, it would be tantamount to handing Germany to the Nazis after winning World War II. I agree. However, the liberals feel that their last, best chance to gain back the power that the people have rightly taken away is to demonize every iota of everything our President has done. They should know better; that strategy backfired in 2002, and in 2004. Why should 2006 be any different? Well, here is why the Left is stepping up their attacks. Their desperation grows as they see these things:
- Success in Iraq: No matter how many left-wing extremists try to characterize Iraq as in a state of "civil war," things are getting better by the day. 19 of 20 provinces are stable. The terrorists are firing off fewer and fewer homemade bombs. The Iraqi people side with our brave heroic troops and help them eradicate the terrorists. Our casualty rate is falling. We are winning huge in Iraq, with casualty numbers that are astoundingly low for such a huge operation.
- The Truth about Saddam: The day would come when we would find out what President Bush already knows: Saddam and Al-Qaeda are linked. Papers showing that link are coming out. The mainstream media, which is composed mostly of extreme leftists willing to lie to see their type back in power, finally having to grudgingly accept that these papers exist. Read about the Saddam papers here and elsewhere. Proving that Saddam and Al-Qaeda were planning "big things" together since before 9/11 will go a long way to showing the Left to be the liars that they are.
- The Economy, Stupid: Right now, the Dow is 11,279, higher than when Prresident Bush took office. Unemployment is at 4.9%. Taxes are lower. The economy got hit by the irrational Clinton tech bubble, Al-Qaeda, hurricanes, Democratic spin, and Enron. None of that could stop the massive power of our beloved President’s tax cuts! By election day 2006, expect a Dow near 13,000, and Republicans rightly taking credit for saving this country’s economy from liberal malfeasance.
- Mainstream Media discredited: Lies, lies, distortions, distortions, naysaying, naysaying. The people have had their fill. The Democrats think that their negativity and our President’s (fabricated) low approval numbers mean that they are a cinch to buffalo the people into voting them into power. They are delusional. The media can make up as many stories as they choose, but troops come home and tell the truth. While the big-name reporters stay holed up in their baghdad hotels, and filter the news to make sure that nothing good gets past them, our side goes out into the field and learns the truth and reports it. The latest hero-reporter is Laura Ingraham, with a full week of good news from Iraq.
The Left is depserate. They spin everything to make it look as if the right is on its knees. For example, in 2005, Democratic governors won in New Jersey and Virginia. But both these state houses were already in Democratic hands. They gained nothing. In Ohio, where George Soros tried to change election laws to tilt the playing field toward the left, the voters rejected the initiatives 3-to-1! We had hoped to defeat one of the four offensive initiatives. We soundly thrashed all four!
"Hollywood tried to make a statement favoring the Left and ridiculing the Right this year. The people responded by handing them a near-record dismal box-office and the most-ignored Oscar broadcast in 20 years."
Hollywood tried to make a statement favoring the Left and ridiculing the Right this year. The people responded by handing them a near-record dismal box-office and the most-ignored Oscar broadcast in 20 years. Ann Coulter predicted this. No matter how preachy and unbearable Hollywood TV gets (watch Boston Legal to see what I mean), they are not going to win converts by condescending.
Anti-war protests this weekend, the third anniversary of the Iraq liberation, fizzled. Nobody believes that the lawful NSA signal intercepts are really unlaw wiretaps. The Democrats have a game plan for 2006: Attack Bush and try to violate Defense Department rules against organized political activities on military bases. Quoting the Washington Times, which obtained a copy of the Dems’ secret game plan:
The Senate plan urges holding town hall events to "draw attention to the security vulnerabilities caused by the Bush budget and explain how Democrats fought to restore programs that keep America safe."
"The Democrats’ entire plan is centered around demonizing President Bush. We don’t know who will be running for President in 2008, but I sure know one person who won’t: George W. Bush."
The Democrats’ entire plan is centered around demonizing President Bush. We don’t know who will be running for President in 2008, but I sure know one person who won’t: George W. Bush. Russ Feingold and the Democrats are planning to, after they "retake" the Congress (ha!), impeach our President. Do they honestly think that the people want another impeachment? We had Clinton dead to rights for perjury, a criminal offense for which he was disbarred for five years. The people did not want Clinton booted for lying in court to screw over someone who he had already screwed over. Do you think they want Bush on the street and (Dick Cheney in the Oval Office) because he is busting his backside to keep Al-Qaeda from blowing us up?
Yet the wishful thinking and the desperate delusions do not subside, they intensify. Will Cheney resign because he misfired his shotgun? Will Bush be wearing an orange jumpsuit for wiretapping? Will the World Court make Don Rumsfeld do the perp walk for designing the most effective military campaign in the history of war? Karl Rove, in the fervent imaginations of these wild idiots, should be busting rocks at Leavenworth as I write this. Instead, he confidently predicts increased GOP majorities in both houses for the third straight election.
"Rush Limbaugh has repeatedly and wisely said, over and over, that the Democrats have pinned their hopes for victory on bad news for America. However, to anyone who actually looks at the news, things are getting better, and are going just great."
Rush Limbaugh has repeatedly and wisely said, over and over, that the Democrats have pinned their hopes for victory on bad news for America. However, to anyone who actually looks at the news, things are getting better, and are going just great. therefore, the Left has to spin gloom and doom, and the mainstream media has to work overtime to help. They spindle every story that dares to portray our President or any other Republican as less than evil. They rig polls to give the false impression that our President’s approval ratings are lower than they actually are. It’s like Mr. Smith goes to Washington. The evil media is lying to the people to keep them in the Dark. Well, in the days of the Internet, Mr. Bush Goes to Washington has the bloggers in the roles of the kids with the hand printed leaflets.
We’re still waiting for the Left to give us their statement of what they stand for. We know what they stand against: School choice, babies, personal freedom to own a gun, your right to control your own money, our President, our military forces, military success against our enemies and any measure that could possibly prevent terrorists from roasting us by the hundreds of thousands. From where I stand, this agenda has zero chance of success. And the desperation of the Left will intensify as the spectre of wielding power over us grows more remote with each election.
