Sarah Palin recently addressed a convention of Tea Party activists.  George Stephanopolous acted as if he had proved Gov. Palin some sort of moron because she had written "Energy," "Budget Tax Cuts" and "Lift American Spirits" on her left hand as talking points for her speech, followed up with a question and answer session, which apparently was otherwise without notes.  Seven words to guide her thoughts in an extended speech.  The London Daily Telegraph scornfully wrote, " Sarah Palin mocked President Barack Obama as ’a charismatic guy with a Teleprompter’ during a speech only to be photographed with crib notes written on the palm of her hand."

What elitist nonsensical hypocrisy!  Mr. Obama was recently photographed speaking to grammar school students with two Teleprompters!  Gov. Palin is well able to conduct an extended session in front of a large (and elated) group of people with seven words for three talking points.  Am I the only one to see the absurdity of these attacks?

Apparently not.  Gov. Palin, showing her talent for connecting with the common sense of the people, appeared at a subsequent event with Gov. Rick Perry of Texas.  Her left hand contained another note: "Hi Mom!"  Gov. Palin made sure that her hand was visible in multiple photographs.  Bravo!  Sarah Palin beautifully illustrated the absurdity of the attacks against her.  How dare the liberals treat her as a hypocrite!  This is the future of America at stake here, not some seventh-grade history test.  Sarah Palin did not want to interrupt the flow of her speech by fumbling through index cards or staring slavishly at a Teleprompter (unlike someone who will go nameless in this paragraph).  She was able to guide her entire presentation, which was completely cogent (much more so than any speech I can recall made by the aforementioned nameless person), with seven words -- actually six, because the word "budget" was crossed out.  Governor Palin therefore demonstrated her intelligence and oratory skills, and put the lie to the nonsensical charges that she is somehow mentally unable to be President.

The media are simultaneously saying that Governor Palin is a political lightweight and a moron who has no chance of beating their messianic leader.  At the same time, the same media reacts in terror at her every move.  Why?  Sarah Palin is brilliant.  She is a true Conservative.  She knows how to explain herself to the people without talking down to them, because she is one of us.  She is the opposite of an effete elitist.  

And the best the media can do is to accuse her of using crib notes?  So What!
