Emigration Bonanza?

ORIGINALLY POSTED NOVEMBER 8, 2004:  Super-angry ultra-liberals are ranting and raving, stating that they will emigrate to Canada, in outrage over the 2004 Bush/GOP mandate.  Over 115,000 have visited the Canada immigration web site to get information.  Over 3,000 have attempted to request refugee status!  I had to pause for a few minutes after typing in that last sentence, to laugh uncontrollably.  These left-wingers act as if we conservatives are a bunch of dolts who cannot think, but when they lose, they go into an immature, irrational snit and desire to leave the United States.  Some ultra-left New Yorkers say that they live on "an island off the coast of Europe."

Leftists say extreme things like the Democrat won-states are "The United States of Canada," while the GOP states are "Jesusland" (Michael Moore said that, of course), and they are using the name of Jesus Christ in a derisive manner.  The mainland Europeans and virtually all Europress (except for Eastern Europe), contends that we are "dumb" for having supported the GOP.  Their snobbery informs their immaturity and vice versa.  The left are a contingent that, at minimum, cannot tolerate the notion that they could ever be voted out of power; for how could the "lesser" people dare to think for themselves?  No self-respecting elite left-winger thinks that poor people, minorities or women could ever live successfully without their help.  In fact, during the debates, John Kerry was speaking on a domestic policy issue; I do not fully remember the subject.  I do, however, remember, when he was talking about some right or another.  I apologize for the vagary; it’s hard to stay awake for any Kerry monologue longer than 12 seconds.  He spoke of the right as something the government ought to grant the people.  Say what?  I thought the USSR crumbled about 13 years ago!

What mind-numbing chutzpah to suggest that any right progresses from government!  Mr. Kerry, and all leftists worldwide, this country was founded on the principle that the government derives its powers from the governed, with their consent.  The people have the power, and delegate tiny slivers of that power to government, as strictly necessary to prevent chaos.  Any other view of government is tyrannical and ultimately evil.  These immature babies are so upset that the people are rebelling against their totalitarian world view.

If you are poor or a minority, these immature binkysuckers think that you are a moron.  They think you are unable to think for yourself or manage your affairs.  Why on Earth do you think that leftists think that Dr. Condoleeza Rice is a "dark skinned white woman?"  Could it be because she made a success of herself?  Why on Earth do they think that Clarence Thomas, soon to be Chief Justice, is "not a true representative of the black man?"  They cannot stomach the notion that someone could succeed independently of their programs.  The trouble comes when the Civil Rights leadership, either fully buffaloed by the drivel scooped out by the ultra-left, or so lustful for the scraps of power given to (not earned by) them, they will turn against the most exemplary of their brethren, calling them "skinfolk not kinfolk," should they dare to think on their own or work their own way up the ladder.

Now the leftist elitists are crying in their Long Island Iced Teas as they contemplate polluting Canada with their Bile.  I would wish them farewell and send them off with nice new pacifiers, but I like Canada and Canadians, and would not wish to hurt them with a mass influx of the immature snobs of our society.  I therefore have two words for these leftist whiners:

GROW UP!

God did not ordain you to perpetual power.  You have failed to argue substance regarding your ideology, and in the gaping void of your vapid vituperative fearmongering, we argued the substance of our position, clearly and in detail.  The people, who are smarter in their pinky fingers than you credit them in whe whole, heard us with unmistakable clarity.  The people, liking what they heard, have given us the privilege of service as the majority of Congress and also the occupancy of the White House.

So, as the Prime Minister of Canada rightly joins my laughter at liberals who intend to claim "refugee" status to move northward, I urge these people to actually define their position, not in terms of epithets, invective and fearmongering, but instead as detailed positions on detailed issues, along with the reasoning used to get there.  What is the role of government?  What are the essential elements of liberty?  Do the people actually own all the rights and the government wield only the powers specifically delegated to it, or the other way around?  Why?  Does the government owe the poor a paid living?  Does the government bear the responsibility of fixing every wrong in your life?  When does government exceed its limits?  Can government exceed its limits in your world view?  Why should more productive people pay a higher percentage of their productivity to the government as taxes than those who produce less income?  Are those with higher incomes truly the "winners of life’s lotto" (John Kerry), or is it possible (or even likely) that their productivity results from hard work and dedication?  Do you believe that black people are now or will ever be capable of succeeding without liberal help?  Same question for hispanics and women.

Unless these liberals define their complete position in detail, both the world and to themselves, with citation to actual facts, they cannot do anything but whine and whimper and attempt to skulk off like angry little kids who did not get their own way.  What they need to do is grow up and define their position and stick to the defined position, and argue its benefits, without invective.  Right now, the liberals are in essence screaming and kicking face down on the floor, indignant that they are no longer in power, enraged that their transparently goofy position has been rejected.  Liberals are full of hate, and they hate the people, whoo have rightly rejected them.  If there is ever to be civilized political debate in this society, they need to come out and engage us on the merits.  They have to win our hearts and minds with substance, not demagoguery.

I don’t expect this.  Frankly, I expect more whining, invective, anger and despair.
