Bull Moose Blog has an Interesting idea for State...

The Bull Moose blog has advocated that United States Senator Joseph Lieberman (D, of Connecticut) ought to succeed General Colin Powell as Secretary of State.  This is a tantalizing idea for many reasons.  First of all, Senator Lieberman, now that Zell Miller has left the Senate, is the most Conservative Democrat in that body, so if he would accept the nomination, he is palatable to us.  I also think that it is important to place a man of Senator Lieberman’s disposition into the state department.  His religious and ethnic background (Senator Lieberman is of Jewish heritage and practices the orthodox faith) are irrelevant to me, but in the war on terror, I can see Israel bring thrilled with this choice.  The nomination would send a strong message to the terror merchants of the world that W is as serious as ever about putting every last terrorist on the ash heap of history, further aligning us with Israel’s super-tough anti-terror policies.

"Moreover, with this nomination, we are looking at the possibility of a 56th Republican seat in the Senate.  Gov. Rell is a Republican, and I doubt that she’d appoint a leftist wacko to a seat held by a principled conservative man.  Forget his party affiliation; Senator Lieberman would be a wise choice for many reasons."

Moreover, with this nomination, we are looking at the possibility of a 56th Republican seat in the Senate.  Gov. Rell is a Republican, and I doubt that she’d appoint a leftist wacko to a seat held by a principled conservative man.  Forget his party affiliation; Senator Lieberman would be a wise choice for many reasons.  The prime candidate for State, however, is Dr. Condoleeza Rice.  Mr. President, don’t do it!  I think that the best place for Dr. Rice is going to come up when Vice President Cheney finally decides to retire; please appoint Dr. Rice as your next Vice President.  Give the people a chance to see Dr. Rice as the next President of the United States by seeing her in the #2 chair.  Then, in 2008, she can launch her run from the Vice President’s chair, and would be unstoppable.  Having Dr. Rice in the Oval Office when W is retired will let my family sleep as soundly as we do now.

Back to Joseph Lieberman, Conservativity joins the Bull Moose Blog and rolls the snowball downhill.  We recommend Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut as Secretary of State.
