A Mandate is a Mandate is a Mandate!

There are still insane people out there, substantially all on the elite extreme left.  They are now saying that President George W. Bush has no mandate, and won by a "razor thin" margin in 2004.  George W. Bush won with over 51% majority of the vote, a difference of three percentage points and 3.2 million votes.  Yet this victory, in the light of a relentless press offensive, fought with every lie that the press could manufacture, is discounted as a nail-biter.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  In fact, this victory is an unmitigated mandate.

"Fact:  The last Democratic candidate to meet or exceed 51% of the popular vote was Lyndon Johnson in 1964.  That’s right folks, Truman, Kennedy, Carter and Clinton never hit 51% popular vote.  Fact: The only Democratic candidates for president to reach 50% of the vote since FDR were LBJ in 1964 and Jimmy Carter in 1976, with 50.57% of the vote."

George W. Bush got more votes than all of his competitors combined.  That’s a mandate.  The people showered his party with four new Senate seats and four new house seats.  The GOP controls more congressional seats than all competitors combined.  That’s a mandate.  The GOP controls more state governorships than all competitors combined.  That’s a mandate!  Again, it must be stressed that our President and the GOP achieved this in the face of a desperate, all-out, decency-be-damned, truth-deficient, press-assisted effort to ruin him and the GOP.  We have already posited that liberalism is in serious decline, and in actuality probably enjoys the support of less than 20% of the people.

"Now the press sees the writing on the wall.  Our beloved President is buckled in, and ready to shift the second term into racing gear.  Four Supreme Court justices, privatized Social Security (thank God), and the government off our backs.   As for terrorism, Fallujah is no longer a problem, thanks to the heroes in our Armed Forces.  Iranian Ayatollahs and North Korean despots are coming precariously close to soiling their Depends as Iraq is converted to a freely-elected Republic."

Now the press sees the writing on the wall.  Our beloved President is buckled in, and ready to shift the second term into racing gear.  Four new Supreme Court justices, privatized Social Security (thank God), and the government off our backs.   As for terrorism, Fallujah is no longer a problem, thanks to the heroes in our Armed Forces.  Iranian Ayatollahs and North Korean despots are coming precariously close to soiling their Depends as Iraq is converted to a freely-elected Republic, leaving the Armed Forces in target-acquisition mode.  The Iranians and North Koreans are desperately working on nukes, perhaps not to use them on us, but to have something to use to try to slow the liberating armies of the United States of America.

The people have decided that conservatives deserve the privilege to govern.  Let us take this Mandate and lead our people forward, to greater security and stability and peace.
